Hello, I’m Roz, a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT). Over the years I’ve been working in mental health within the NHS I’ve added other strings to my therapy bow.

I’m a qualified EMDR Practitioner, have trained in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and keep fully up to date with current research. I am always learning through reading and clinical supervision.

I’m committed to providing a safe, non-judgemental space to support people on their journey to emotional well-being and personal growth, hence naming my therapy practice Blossom in Therapy (Stockport has other Blossom related curiosities as well, a pub, a band…).

Whether you’re struggling with low mood, anxiety, self-criticism, shame, or the effects of past trauma, I am here to guide you towards a healthier, happier you.

My experience

I initially became interested in mental health in my early twenties due to experiencing difficulties myself so I have first hand knowledge of struggling with my mental health and with accessing psychological therapy.

I have worked in the NHS since 2004 and in mental health since 2005 moving from administration to a training role focusing on supporting people with depression and anxiety at this time. Throughout my time in the NHS I’ve worked with so many wonderful people to help them grow and heal, it was, and continues to be, both a rewarding and challenging role.

I am an empathic and compassionate therapist; my approach is always to have the needs of the client at heart and to be alongside them as we move through the therapy process. I have a strong foundation in evidence-based psychological therapies but can tailor your therapy to incorporate what you need using a range of approaches.

Being neurodivergent myself I specialise in working with other neurodivergent people, it’s not always the case, but in my experience generally, there is an inherent level of understanding between neurodivergent people which can be beneficial to how the therapy is experienced.

Starting my own therapy practice has been a decision I have made to continue my own growth, allowing space from the confines of the NHS, to provide bespoke care and deeper connection to cater to each individual’s unique needs and story.
